Om begivenheden
Swan song is a tribute to dreams and poetry. Here, the duo Smeltevand invites you inside the swan's nest - a space where you as an audience can lie down and experience poetry and reality merge.
Visual surfaces of porous paper, glossy lakes and detailed closeups adorn the ceiling in the City Hall's Festival Hall, while the musical surfaces of flute, song and flapping feathers create an adventurous universe where the Swan is at the centre.
The swan plays many different roles in HC Andersen's Fairy Tales and is a strong symbol in our culture: as a figure and figure of speech in literature, as an image of absolute grace in classical music, and we all know the myth of the Swan, who can break the arm of a adult man. But what happens if you boil elegance, poetry and myths together with reality? This is what the duo Smeltevand does in this live installation and concert experience, where the Swan is turned and turned as if in a kaleidoscope of symbols, expressions, fairy tales, songs, myths and poetry.
Step into a room where small details are given space to become large, and the delicate becomes powerful.
The performance has been created with support from HC Andersen Festivals and Aarhus Municipality
